Program Overview

Have you been wondering how to better utilize social media to engage with your target audience and promote your program?  What are the benefits?  What are the barriers?   This program will provide you with the latest information on the different forms of social media and how to engage with the public with confidence.   Learn realistic ways to incorporate social media into your busy schedule.  This will be an interactive session with time for dialogue and analyzing of case studies.  We will spend time working with partners or small groups, discussing and filling out a worksheet to set goals and take social media to the next level.  You will learn the different social media platforms and which ones will be most effective in achieving your goals.

Learning Objectives

1.  Identify two benefits, two barriers, and two realistic solutions to engaging with colleagues and the public on social media.

2.  Differentiate between the different "personalities" of various soical media platforms to determine the platform(s) that may be most effective and efficient in achieving your goals.

3. Define realistic ways to incorporate social media into your schedule to promote diabetes education and pursue other professional goals (i.e. connecting with colleagues and the public)
