AADE19 Meeting Recap

As AADE 2019 Houston draws to a close, I want to thank all the individuals from GA- the attendees, speakers, and our national officer- Mandy Reece, AADE Treasurer, for representing our state so well.  We had a great group join us for the Thurs. night networking event and gave out Atlanta brochures and our GA Peach keychains, inviting all to join us for AADE 2020 in Atlanta.

On Friday, we gathered as many as possible for the picture on the Teeter Totters outside the Convention Center, and this morning we were able to gather 4 of our 9 scholarship attendees, for pictures with me, your current GAADE CB chairman.  Our recipients this year were- Lisa Graham (ATL), Patricia Addie-Gentle (ATL), Ina Flores (ATL), Margo Mumford (ATL), Emily Ragsdale (VAL), Patricia Addie- Gentle (ATL), Allison Presnell (SAV), Kendra Lewis (ATL), and Karen Leverett (MAC).

The Board shared with us our new projected title- Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and the research to support it during the Annual Business meeting on Mon.  Watch for upcoming webinars and for a CE the GAADE CB will offer to the LNGs this fall.  We have also asked the scholarship recipients to send a comment about their favorite event/session from this year, so watch for upcoming blogs!

We hope you are all preparing for our statewide meeting in Columbus on Feb 21-22 and will come ready to hear how you can support AADE 2020 in Atlanta next year.
